Industrial Relations Commission of NSW
Deputy President Janet McDonald was appointed to the Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales (Commission) as a Commissioner in 2022 and formally sworn in as Deputy President on 1 July 2026 by the President of the Commission, Hon. Justice Ingmar Taylor.

Deputy President McDonald is a legal practitioner with over 36 years’ experience and practiced as a solicitor until she was called to the Bar in 2007. Prior to her appointment as Commissioner in 2022, Deputy President McDonald acted as a barrister in a broad range of industrial and employment cases including work health and safety prosecutions before the Industrial Court and District Court of NSW, as well as complex disputes in the Commission for NSW government bodies.
