Before being appointed to the Commission, Commissioner Muir had worked in both the public and private sectors, including in private legal practice, in corporate roles at an ASX listed entity, and in regulatory supervision at the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre. Immediately prior to appointment he was CEO of an industry association.
