Commissioner Brock was appointed as a Commissioner of the Industrial Relations Commission on 28 July 2026 with more than 30 years’ experience as an industrial relations practitioner.

Commissioner Brock commenced his career as an industrial officer with the United Services Union before progressing to senior positions in the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists, Managers Australia and the Local Government Engineers Association.  Commissioner Brock has direct experience representing union members in disputes and advanced award and enterprise agreement negotiations on behalf of employees before the Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales (IRC). 

Commissioner Brock has extensive Board and executive level experience and occupied Board Positions at Vision Super and Local Government Super.  He is a long-standing Newcastle resident and previously served as an executive member of Unions NSW and Hunter Workers.  Commissioner Brock brings his extensive knowledge of industrial relations in the Hunter region, where the IRC commenced regular sittings at the Newcastle Local Court.
