The Industrial Registry provides day-to-day administrative support to the Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales (IRC) and serves as the initial point of contact for the public, legal practitioners, unions, and parties to proceedings.
The Industrial Registry is responsible for:
accepting documents filed at the IRC;
processing fees;
securing the custody of exhibits and documents produced by parties under subpoena;
allocating and listing matters for hearing;
preparing hearings and meeting rooms.
issuing court process;
providing information and procedural guidance;
maintaining physical files and computer records; and
following data security protocols.
The Executive Officer manages the Industrial Registry's resources to achieve the priorities set by the President of the IRC.
The IRC appoints an Industrial Registrar and Deputy Registrar under s 207 of the Industrial Relations Act 1996 (NSW).
